Papa John's Foundation Donates $500K to AAC&U to Support the Truth, Racial Healing and Transformation (TRHT) Campus Centers

In 2019, The Papa John’s Foundation for Building Community donated a grant of $500,000 to support the Association of American Colleges and Universities (AAC&U) Truth, Racial Healing & Transformation (TRHT) Campus Centers. The grant will support AAC&U’s effort to develop at least 150 self-sustaining, community integrated TRHT Campus Centers.

The Papa John’s Foundation for Building Community

In 2017, AAC&U announced ten institutions selected to serve as sites for the first Truth, Racial Healing & Transformation (TRHT) Campus Centers as part of a multi-year initiative to educate, prepare and inspire the next generation of leaders to advance justice and build equitable communities.

The ten institutions selected as sites for the first TRHT Campus Centers include:

  • Austin Community College (TX)
  • Brown University (RI)
  • Duke University (NC)
  • Hamline University (MN)
  • Millsaps College (MS)
  • Rutgers University—Newark (NJ)
  • Spelman College (GA)
  • The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina (SC)
  • University of Hawai’i at Mānoa (HI)
  • University of Maryland Baltimore County (MD)

“Only by working together to upend structural racism and classism will we be able to fulfill the promise of American higher education,” said AAC&U President Lynn Pasquarella.
