The following is a list of frequently asked questions regarding our menu items and common allergens.
Does your pizza contain Trans Fats?
All Papa John's Pizzas have zero trans fat.
Do any of your ingredients contain MSG?
Papa John's does not add monosodium glutamate (MSG) to any of our pizza toppings. However, there is MSG in our Ranch and Blue Cheese Dipping Sauces.
Do your products contain eggs?
Eggs are present in our garlic ranch sauce, Chocolate Pastry Delights, Wings and the breading on our Chickenstrips. The following Dipping Sauces also contain eggs: Honey Mustard, Cheese, Ranch, Blue Cheese.
Do your products contain peanuts or peanut oils?
Our Chocolate Pastry Delights is made with Nestles® Tollhouse® chocolate morsels which is produced in a facility that handles nuts. The manufacturing line the morsels are produced on does not process nuts.
Do your products contain tree nuts?
No. Tree nuts are not used in the manufacture of any of our products.
Do your menu items contain milk or milk products?
The following items used at Papa John's contain milk or milk products: thin crust, cheese, garlic ranch sauce, Alfredo sauce, spinach Alfredo sauce, garlic Parmesan sauce, crisp topping used on desserts, Parmesan cheese packet, Chocolate Pastry Delights, Chicken Strips, Chicken Wings, Cinnamon Spread and our Blue Cheese, Ranch and Cheese Dipping Sauces.
Does your pizza crust contain soy?
All of our crust options contain soybean oil.
Are there animal fats in your dough or sauce?
No. Our dough contains soybean oil, and our pizza sauce contains a blend of either sunflower or canola oil with extra virgin olive oil.
Do any of your products contain animal-derived enzymes?
A majority of our products contain biosynthesized and/or vegetable-derived enzymes. However, our pan crust and the cheese blend used on our Tuscan Six Cheese pizza contain animal-derived enzymes. Our hand-tossed original pizza dough contains fungal or bacterial derivatives. Our garlic sauce contains lactic acid, which is not classified as an animal derivative because it has been fermented.
Do you use preservatives on your vegetables?
Our fresh vegetables—onions, green peppers, roma tomatos and mushrooms, are not treated with any preservatives. Our canned vegetables—jalapeños and banana peppers, have less than 1/10 of 1% sodium benzoate and potassium sorbate; our pepperoncini peppers contain sodium metabisulfite and calcium chloride, which are used as preservatives.
